When installing shocks on '86-'15 XL models, modification or spacing of the chain/belt guard may be necessary for proper clearance. Confirm that wheel travel can be altered without causing clearance issues before installing shocks with different than OEM length. Heavy Duty Applications are recommended for bikes operated at or near the manufacturer's maximum load rating over 50% of the time.
