When installing shocks on '86-'15 XL models, modification or spacing of the chain/belt guard may be necessary. Confirm that wheel travel can be altered without clearance issues before installing shocks of a different length than OEM. Heavy Duty Applications are recommended for bikes operated at or near the manufacturer's maximum load rating over 50% of the time.
