This improvement stems from a redesigned footprint that is both larger and shorter. Metzeler has rebalanced the tire's stiffness to optimize rubber adherence to the tarmac's micro-asperities, thereby boosting mechanical grip, especially on low-friction surfaces. The revised land/sea ratio on the rear tire, coupled with a new tread design, provides higher wear resistance and consistent performance. Radial groove positioning enhances grip on wet roads, even on challenging surfaces like city streets and worn tarmac, and in low temperatures. The Roadtec 01 tire is tubeless and designed for front fitment on cruiser and street bikes.
