Important to know
Before installation, ensure you check coil bind, valve-to-valve clearance, and valve-to-piston clearance. For late '77 and later engines, note that the camshaft, pinion gear, and breather valve gear pitch diameters were changed. These components are not interchangeable with earlier-style components unless replaced as a complete set. Late '77 and later gear sets are identifiable by a circular groove machined into the outer face of the cam gear.
