Important to know
Installation requires checking coil bind, valve-to-valve clearance, and valve-to-piston clearance to ensure proper operation and prevent damage. On late '77 and later engines, the camshaft, pinion gear, and breather valve gear pitch diameters were changed and must be replaced as a set. Late '77 and later gear sets are identified by a circular groove machined in the outer face of the cam gear.
