This intelligent ignition system uses a crank position sensor, and if present, a cam position sensor, MAP sensor, cylinder head temperature sensor, and a knock sensor. The exclusive knock sensor detects detonation or knock while the engine is running, allowing the ECU to automatically adjust ignition timing to eliminate knock. By eliminating knock, the IST ignition module optimizes both power and fuel economy, giving you the best of both worlds. The IST system ensures your engine runs at its peak, delivering reliable performance and efficiency. Made in the U.S.A.

Vigtigt at vide

The Intelligent Spark Technology Ignition Module requires a separate installation kit. An optional high-output single-fire coil designed for the S&S Variable Fuel Injection System is available with a coil impedance of 3 ohm per coil (sold separately). This sensor is not intended for fuel-injected models. It is not recommended for kick-start applications unless a cam position sensor is used. Engines using crankshaft position sensors will be difficult to kick-start.

S&S IST ignition modules manufactured after 10-1-03 (serial number begins with "E" or higher letter) already contain software to support the Guardian Diagnostic System. These modules will work in all applications except 2004-05. Modules manufactured after 10-1-05 (serial number begins with "G" or higher letter) are compatible with 04-05 models in addition to the other specified applications.
