The S&S Cycle 551 Easy Start Camshaft Kit is designed to optimize the performance of your 88", 96", 103", or 106" Harley-Davidson Touring motorcycle. This bolt-in kit greatly improves low-end and midrange torque, providing a noticeable increase in power from idle to 4000 rpm. The innovative easy start feature reduces crank compression during startup, making it easier on your starter and battery. Once the engine is running, the compression release lobe retracts, allowing the engine to run at full compression without any performance loss. Designed for use with slip-on mufflers and compression ratios between 9.0:1 and 9.9:1, this kit ensures optimal performance and reliability. The S&S 551 cam is designed for a gear drive. This kit includes everything needed for installation, offering a straightforward upgrade for stock or mildly modified engines.
